Subject:  International Course Scheduling and Compensation

International Studies Travel Classes, International Studies Seminars, and travel related Special Topics Classes should be placed on the Spring schedule for summer and spring break travel opportunities.  Winter break travel opportunities should have classes and seminars placed on the Fall semester schedule.

Students should register for travel classes and seminars during regular class registration but in all cases before the date the final payment is due.  Late registration requires permission of the instructor(s).  Federal financial aid will not be available for classes if registration occurs after the freeze date.

Travel classes and seminars should not be part of the regular teaching load.  To receive full overload pay for classes and seminars the class must have a minimum of 8 students.  For fewer than 8 students, overload compensation will be pro-rated.

Compensation above overload pay shall be $50 per student to a maximum of $1000.
